We took today as a mostly rest day...first heading to a little coffee shop, conveniently next door to a bike shop. After some coffee and hanging out, we dropped off Cook's bike to get the derailleur hanger fully straightened. We walked to the coop to grab some groceries and then some free samples of dog food1 from the pet store- because, well, the reliable post office didn't have our package of food yet! We're going to have them forward it to Tillamook, OR for us to pickup monday/tuesday... Cook was going to get a much needed haircut- but there sadly didnt seem to quite be time for us to then make it to the campsite...
We rode aout 12ish miles to Ft Stevens State Park- our first OR state park, so we got to stay at the nice and super cheap hiker/biker sites, well away from the RVs. The worst part was the bridge- windy with a small gravely shoulder. On the way we stopped at the Fred Meyers- which was awesome! It had the same food as the coop- 5 options for Tofurkey slices even! I got some more food, but more importantly some canisters of fuel for our stove.
We made a nice warm fire at camp- took hot showers- and luckily it only rained while we were sleeping.
