March 14th

There was some bad weather predicted to come in, 40mph plus winds and rain- so we were contemplating staying there another day. But, the only other person at the hiker/biker site was some guy who just got out of jail. So we didn't want to go anywhere (like the lake with the covered tables) with out taking everything with us.... So today we braved the winds and driving rain for a whopping 14 miles, from the camp at Ft Stevens to Seaside. We stayed at a hostel that turned out to pretty much suck. Since we had the dog we had to stay in a private room, which was way over priced for what it was- and everyone there seemed to be, well, not the brightest. We weren't thrilled with the nickel and dime-ing of them charging a whole dollar extra to get just soymilk inyour coffee (they had an espresso area thing), over a dollar if you wanted a bag of chips, and they awesome pancake breakfast- which was just pancake mix sitting out that wasn't at all vegan.

So needless to say- we couldn't wait to keep moving, no matter how small of a step it might be.
